Alicia vivía en una pequeña casa en las afueras del pueblo. Aunque sus padres trabajaban en el campo desde la mañana hasta la noche, llevaban vidas modestas y pobres. Ciertamente, cómo es posible hacerse ricos en tales circunstancias. Fuertes huracanes a menudo ocurrían allí, estropeaban y destruían los cultivos.
Y un día, cuando los padres se habían ido a trabajar, nubes oscuras cubrieron la casa, centellearon relámpagos, comenzó un fuerte granizo y luego estalló el viento. Era de tal fuerza que comenzó a demoler todos los edificios a su alrededor, a convertir en astillas los barcos en el muelle local.
